The Lynnwood Police Department welcomed 40 campers ages 11 to 14 to its second annual Lynnwood Police Youth Camp, held July 23 to 26 at Meadowdale Middle School.

Lynnwood Police Sgt. Cole Langdon led the camp along with 13 police officers and sergeants who served as camp counselors.

The middle-school campers learned what it’s like to be a police officer and developed such skills as teamwork, leadership and responsibility. They tried their hand at fingerprinting, worked with police dogs, and got an insider’s view of a SWAT armored vehicle and robot. Experts talked about disaster medical treatment and healthy teen relationships.
