The King helps out senior center
Elvis impersonator Danny Vernon headlines an Aug. 25 fundraiser for the Stillaguamish Senior Center. The event kicks off at 3 p.m. with a classic car show outside and silent auction inside. Elvis takes the stage at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 and available at the senior center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington.

PAWS 5k coming up
PAWS, a Lynnwood-based nonprofit that includes animal shelters and wildlife rescue services, holds its PAWSwalk 5k fundraiser Sept. 16 at Warren G. Magnuson Park, 7400 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle.
Runners start the course at 9 a.m., walkers at 10. Participate and help raise money, or donate. Registration ranges from $20 to $35.

Get Monroe kids ready for school
Sky Valley Food Bank will distribute new backpacks and school supplies Aug. 20-31.
To receive supplies, parents must show they live in the Monroe School District and provide birthdate verification for their children.
Financial donations are needed to help purchase the backpacks and supplies. Donations can be made online, or mail a check to Sky Valley Food Bank, P.O. Box 724, Monroe, WA 98272.

Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity
August is a busy month for Habitat for Humanity, but volunteers are short during the summer month.
Volunteer needs:

Truck assistant, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays

Everett store, various shifts Tuesdays through Saturdays
•
Lynnwood store, various shifts Tuesdays through Fridays and Saturdays

Fundraisers for Red Curtain planned
Marysville’s Red Curtain Foundation for the Arts has two fundraisers coming up.
A Red Hot Burlesque show to raise money for safety upgrades at the arts center is set for Aug. 18. Tickets are $20, $22 at the door.
A Laff’n Raffle stand-up comedy benefit is Aug. 25. Admission is $25 and includes appetizers and a drink ticket. Raffle tickets are $10 each or three for $25.
The Red Curtain Arts Center is at 9315 State Ave.

Night of Hope fundraiser set
Hope Creek Charitable Foundation holds a fundraiser, Night of Hope at the Creek, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Aug. 21.
The auction event includes live music, appetizers, craft mocktails and wine. Proceeds benefit outreach programs, including weekend food programs for students, food bank donations, services to the homeless, and more.
Tickets are $40, $75 per couple.
