Enjoy a musical jam
Enjoy an evening of old-time music with fiddle, guitar, banjo and more with the Washington Old Time Fiddlers, 5 p.m. Friday, and every second and fourth Friday, at the Sisco Heights Community Club, 13527 99th Ave. NE, Arlington. There’s a Celtic jam at 5 p.m., workshop at 6, and circle jam at 7. Musicians are welcome, or just enjoy the music.

Northshore ransacks the attic for sale
Find your treasures and support Northshore Senior Center at the Ransacked Attic and Rummage Sale, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. The senior center describes this as “Bothell’s biggest rummage sale.” Find clothing, books, household items, antiques, collectibles, children’s items and a bake sale. Items are regularly restocked. Granny’s Kitchen will be open for food purchases.

Discover history, heritage in Lynnwood
History & Heritage Day runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Lynnwood’s Heritage Park, 19921 Poplar Way. See the city’s first fire engine, tour the trolley (Interurban Car 55), get a conductor’s hat and take tours.

Lacrosse game aids veterans
Shootout for Soldiers will hold a 24-hour lacrosse event Aug. 18-19 at Kasch Park, 8811 Airport Road, Everett. Proceeds benefit Brigadoon Service Dogs, a Bellingham nonprofit that provides trained service dogs to combat veterans and others, and the Seattle Stand-Down, which helps homeless veterans in the Seattle area.
Donations and volunteers are welcome.

Firefighters fill the boot in MD fight
Snohomish County Fire District 4 firefighters will Fill the Boot for the Muscular Dystrophy Association between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the intersection of Second Street and Avenue D in Snohomish. Drivers and pedestrians can put monetary donations in the boots. Over the past five years, Fire District 4 has raised more than $116,000 for MDA.

Bothell offers a free workshop for owners of property near streams, lakes or wetlands, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Lytle House at the Park at Bothell Landing, 9929 NE 180th St. Learn how to encourage a more natural state to your land to support wildlife and reduce maintenance needs.
