HEADS UP
Prepare for downtown parking disruptions
Construction fencing for a major courthouse renovation went up earlier this week and took out parking spots along Wall Street and Wetmore Avenue in Everett.
The fencing could remain in place for up to 15 months, as crews demolish part of the old 1967 building and put up a new five-story wing.
During construction, 23 street parking spots will remain closed off.
The project also disrupts the main courthouse entrance. Signs will direct people to alternate entries.

U.S. 2 trestle closure postponed
A forecast chance of rain over the coming weekend prompted the state Department of Transportation to postpone closure of the westbound U.S. 2 trestle for a state repaving project.
Closures are planned for subsequent weekends into September, except for Labor Day weekend — again, weather permitting.
