Check out hot rods, motorcycles in Everett
The Bill Baker Memorial Steel & Wheel SuperShow of hot rods and motorcycles will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Machinist Union District Lodge 751 Everett Union Hall, 8729 Airport Road.
Former Oakland Raider Otis Sistrunk is expected to attend. There also will be food and music.
Free to attend. Vehicles can still participate.
Cost is $25 the day of the event and benefits Guide Dogs of America.

Everett’s present meets past, future
Everett is celebrating its 125th anniversary.
Imagining Everett’s Future is set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave., and will feature stories from the city’s past as well as a nod to its future.
A time capsule will be sealed to be opened in 50 years. Inside will be placed postcards with stories, poems, art and memories contributed by the public.
Cards are available in the library lobby until the event.

The Camano Center hosts a Lunch & Learn Aging Partnership Panel with Warm Beach Senior Community, noon to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at 606 Arrowhead Road, Camano Island.

WAYS TO HELP
Attend Guns ‘n Hoses in Lake Stevens
Lake Stevens fire and police face off in an annual Guns ‘n Hoses softball challenge and barbecue Monday at Cavelero Mid High School, 8220 24th St. SE.
The barbecue starts at 5:30 p.m. First pitch is at 6.
A fire engine and SWAT vehicle will be on hand for tours, calls permitting.
The event is by donation. Proceeds from the barbecue will benefit the Lake Stevens Family Center.
Donations of markers and fruit snacks also will be accepted.

Help with chores, errands
Volunteer Services, a program of Catholic Community Services, seeks volunteers to assist with household chores, yard care, transportation and other tasks that help elders, veterans and adults with disabilities to remain independent in their own homes.
Volunteers typically serve two to eight hours per month.
