LYNNWOOD — A man is in the hospital and facing a possible DUI charge after crashing his sedan, allegedly fleeing the scene by running across I-5, and getting hit by a car Tuesday night.
The Washington State Patrol said the 26-year-old man from Marysville was speeding southbound. He lost control, struck the guardrail and the Nissan Maxima he was driving landed on its top. It happened just after 9 p.m. north of the 164th Street overpass.
Trooper Travis Shearer said the man attempted to run away from the scene of the crash.
The man was hit by a Toyota Camry driven by a 35-year-old woman from Washington, D.C. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Shearer said the man was in serious condition.
It is illegal to be a pedestrian on I-5.
