Art in Legion Park
The Arlington Arts Council is hosting Art in Legion Park on Saturday and Sunday at 114 N. Olympic Ave.
The hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The event features local artists, live music and projects for kids. The Arlington Farmers Market also will be there Saturday.
People can take a self-guided Art of Arlington walking tour along the Centennial Trail, with murals and sculptures.

Salmon season is here
Fall is in the air, and salmon are in the creek. Bothell residents are invited to start looking in North Creek for chinook in September, sockeye in October and coho in November as the salmon migrate up the creek.
Guided walking tours along the creek with a local salmon expert are planned for 10 a.m. Sept. 23 and 10 a.m. Oct. 14. All ages are welcome. Registration is required.

Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival coming up
The Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival runs Friday to Sunday. Find food vendors, kids activities, a fishing derby, live entertainment, artisans and more.
Activities take place at the Mukilteo Lighthouse Park on the waterfront. Saturday’s events include a children’s parade at 10:30 a.m., Grand Parade at 10:45 and a fireworks show at dusk.
Admission is free, but some activities, such as bouncy houses and rides, require the purchase of tickets.

WAYS TO HELP
Harvest for a cause
Volunteers are needed to help pick corn that will be donated to Food Lifeline and distributed to a number of food banks in the region.
The corn is being grown on a farm off 43rd Avenue SE, on Ebey Island near Everett.
Volunteers would harvest the corn starting at 5 p.m. on Friday. A fun run at 6 will raise money for the Lake Stevens Food Bank.

Auction for Habitat
Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County holds its annual Bids for Builds dinner and auction, 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Future of Flight Museum, 8415 Paine Field Blvd., Mukilteo.
Tickets are $60 and must be purchased by Sept. 30.

MEETING
AAUW kicks off school year
The American Association of University Women Edmonds SnoKing Branch kicks off its school year meetings, 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 8 in Snohomish Hall Room 338 at Edmonds Community College.
The group will honor its EdCC scholarship winners, hold a raffle and used book sale, and discuss the coming year.
