Walk for Voices band

The annual Friendship Walk to benefit Voices of the Village sets off at 9 a.m. Sept. 22 at Arlington’s Legion Memorial Park.

Registration is $20 in advance, $25 at the event.

There’s a 5k route and 1-mile walk.

This year’s event features a superhero theme.

Along with the event, breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase, and car washes are offered by donation 8 a.m. to noon.

Voices of the Village, a program of Village Community Services, is a member-based ensemble band for people living with disabilities.

Football booster club car show planned

Marysville Getchell High School’s football booster club will host a car show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the campus.

Cars are still welcome to take part; cost is $25 the day of the event.

The cheer team will perform as well.

Volunteer at veterans museum

The Northwest Veterans Museum, located in the Wicker Building at Heritage Park in Lynnwood, seeks a volunteer webmaster and volunteer treasurer.

Both positions require about four to six hours of work per month.

The museum also seeks donations for daily maintenance and future capital expenses.

Garden program for families set

A demonstration garden with native plants by the Edmonds Wildlife Habitat Project will be open to the public from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Willow Creek Hatchery, 95 Pine St.

The celebration includes a pizza lunch by donation, tours, nature crafts for kids and presentations on birds, plants and more.

Learn about gangs

Everett will host an International Gang Awareness Day event, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Explorer Middle School, 9600 Sharon Drive.

Learn about youth gang-related and firearm-related crime, ask questions and see how to help.

Aging class will come to Lynnwood

The Lynnwood and Edmonds senior centers are teaming up to offer the National Council on Aging’s five-week “Aging Mastery” program, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 26 to Oct. 24, at the Lynnwood Senior Center, 19000 44th Ave. W. Free. Registration required.
