HEADS UP

Try, try again — or not

The westbound U.S. 2 trestle will be open to traffic this weekend. The fifth of six planned closures was canceled because of a rainy forecast. The moisture-sensitive repaving work has been on-again, off-again since May. The next hoped-for closures are 7 p.m. Sept. 28 to 4 a.m. Oct. 1, and 7 p.m. Oct. 5 to 4 a.m. Oct. 8.

A closure of the northbound I-5 off-ramp to 116th Street NE in Tulalip also was postponed.

Back-to-back closures of 524

Meanwhile, other road projects are moving ahead.

Two roundabouts are being installed on Highway 524 on either side of the I-405 underpass near Lynnwood. The work will require two back-to-back weekend road closures. The first closure is scheduled for 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday while crews build a roundabout intersection at Larch Way. The second follows Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 when focus turns to Locust Way.

The detours in both cases will follow Cypress Way, Larch Way, Logan Road and Damson Road.

Elsewhere, a road used to get from Highway 522 to Woodinville’s wine country will be closed this weekend. Highway 202 (NE 175th Street) will be closed between 131st Avenue NE and Woodinville-Redmond Road for a bridge project.
