Historic Everett Theatre looking for weekend volunteers

1. Operation Christmas.
Pack shoe boxes full of gifts and help spread Christmas cheer around the world.
Christ the King Community Church in Snohomish is hosting a packing party for Operation Christmas Child, a national relief effort led by Samaritan’s Purse, at 10 a.m. Oct. 6 at the church, 825 Ave. D, Snohomish.
Volunteers will fill more than 700 shoe boxes with gifts to be sent to 100 countries, including around the U.S., and given to children who otherwise wouldn’t receive presents.

You can also pack your own shoe boxes with gifts and drop them off at participating churches during National Collection Week, Nov. 12-19.
Drop-off locations in Snohomish and Island counties include: Atonement Free Lutheran Church in Arlington, Gateway Centre Church in Lynnwood, Calvary Chapel of Lake Stevens, New Hope Fellowship in Monroe and South Whidbey Assembly in Langley.

2. Hype train.
12s unite! Hop on the Game Day train.
Sound Transit’s Sounder Train takes Seattle Seahawks fans to CenturyLink Field for Sunday afternoon games.
Trains depart from Everett Station (3201 Smith Ave.) at 10:20 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. for the Seahawks’ 1:25 p.m. game Oct. 7 against the Los Angeles Rams. Return trips are scheduled for 15 and 35 minutes after the game.
Tickets are available via the Transit GO Ticket app. Or pay with cash, E-purse, Visa or MasterCard.

3. Help the theater.
The Historic Everett Theatre is looking for volunteers to usher and run the concessions stand.
Volunteers would be asked to work at the 1901 building once a month during the weekend.
