Tour Sky Valley farms
The Sky Valley Farm Festival is back on Saturday after a one-year hiatus. Tour two working farms, take a wagon ride through a cow field, swing from a rope in a hayloft, ride a horse, learn roping and more. The fun kicks off at 11 a.m. and goes until 4:30 p.m.
Participating farms this year are River’s End Cattle Ranch, located off Fern Bluff Road at 16603 275th Ave. SE, and Groeneveld’s Dairy Farm, at 29524 Fern Bluff Road. Both have Monroe addresses but are located just outside of Sultan. Wagon rides will be offered between the two farms.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome.

Make glitter jars
Kids can make calming glitter jars at 4 p.m. Friday at the Snohomish Library, 311 Maple Ave. When done, kids can shake the jar and watch the glitter settle as a calming activity.

Tour aviation center
Everett Community College’s Advanced Manufacturing Training & Education Center will celebrate National Manufacturing Day with brief drop-in tours from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at 909 N Broadway. Tours are open to the public. Learn about industry trends, partnerships and what students have been learning.

Rocktoberfest in Marysville
The Marysville Rock & Gem Club holds its annual Rocktoberfest rock and gem show, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Totem Middle School, 1605 Seventh St. NE. Free admission. There will be vendors, club displays, demonstrations, kids activities, a silent auction and door prizes.

Techtoberfest in Lynnwood
The Lynnwood Library holds its annual Techtoberfest from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. This year’s event features virtual reality, with headsets to try out and a panel discussion on the state of virtual reality and what may be coming next. There also will be robotics, programming and other hands-on activities. The library is at 19200 44th Ave. W.

Animal shelters open doors
Animal shelters will hold special open houses Saturday as part of a statewide effort hosted by Pawsitive Alliance. The events include tours as well as information on adopting animals or volunteering.
