LYNNWOOD — Sprouts Farmers Market, a national natural and organic grocery chain, plans to open a second Snohomish County location next year, in Lynnwood.
The new Sprouts store, at 19630 Highway 99, is expected to open by the end of March, a company spokeswoman said.
The new Lynnwood store will create a need for about 300 jobs.
The grocer said it would provide more details at a later date.
Sprouts’ offerings include fresh produce, fresh meat and seafood, and a deli with prepared entrees and side dishes.
The Phoenix-based grocer made its first foray into Washington when it opened a store in Mill Creek in August.
At a compact 30,000 square feet, Sprouts stores are about half the size of a typical national-brand grocery store.
In recent years, Sprouts has been rapidly expanding. Next year it plans to open more than 30 stores, about the same number it opened this year and in 2017.
The grocery chain, in business for 16 years, employs more than 28,000 people and operates more than 300 stores in 19 states.
