Wylie’s goal in OT lifts Silvertips over Warriors 2-1

MOOSE JAW, Saskatchewan — Everett native Wyatte Wylie scored 21 seconds into overtime to lead the Silvertips over the Moose Jaw Warriors 2-1 on Friday.

After Tristin Langan scored to give the Warriors an early lead, Sahvan Khaira tied the game up at 1-1 with a goal at 16:47 in the second period.

The score remained tied through a scoreless third period before Wylie beat Moose Jaw goalie Brodan Salmond for the game-winner in overtime.

Dustin Wolf stopped 21 of 22 shots, and Gianni Fairbrother and Bryce Kindopp had assists for the Silvertips (9-5-0-0).

Salmond had 19 saves for the Warriors (5-4-3-0).

The Silvertips return to action in the final game of their eastern swing against the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday.
