MARYSVILLE — A 50-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after a standoff in Marysville.

Police say his wife called 911 about 7:45 p.m., saying he was suicidal and intoxicated before she heard gunshots in the house.

A massive emergency response followed in the area near Shoultes Elementary School.

Police say the man continued to fire shots, hitting a patrol car, an ambulance and a SWAT personnel carrier. He was arrested around 9:30 p.m. after a prolonged confrontation.

No injuries were reported. Property damage was being assessed.

The available information was preliminary as of the newspaper’s deadline, but a Marysville police spokesman said there was no indication that officers had returned fire, contrary to social media reports.
