Eat pancakes
The Stillaguamish Senior Center plans a pancake breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 24. The meal includes, eggs, sausage, coffee and juice. The price is $5 per person.
The location is the main hall of the center at 18308 Smokey Point Blvd.

OPPORTUNITIES
Boaters invited to lighted parade
Local boaters are welcome to participate in the annual Mukilteo Yacht Club Holiday Lighted Boat Parade on Dec. 1. Decorated, lighted boats will travel down the Snohomish River from the Port of Everett North (12th Street) to Anthony’s Restaurant in Everett Marina Village and back, starting at 5:30 p.m. The event could be canceled if conditions are unsafe for boating.
The parade is part of the Port of Everett’s “Holiday on the Bay” festivities and can be viewed from many shoreside locations, including Boxcar Park.
Registration is required to participate.

Learn CPR
Snohomish County Fire District 4 in Snohomish will offer CPR and first aid classes throughout 2019. Classes are scheduled on Saturdays, and space is limited. Residents of the district pay $30, while others pay $60. Upcoming dates include Jan. 26, Feb. 23 and March 23.
Register in person at 1525 Avenue D or go to the website for additional details.
The district also will offer classes in Community Emergency Response Training in 2019. The next one is in February, and registration is required.

Open house about cancer treatment
Providence Regional Medical Center Everett holds an educational event, “Breathe Easy,” about its robotic thoracic surgery program, 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 28 in the east lobby of the Cymbaluk Tower, 1321 Colby Ave. Learn about procedures offered and meet the surgeons.

WAYS TO HELP
Help with chores, errands
Volunteer Services, a program of Catholic Community Services, seeks volunteers to assist with household chores, yard care, transportation and other tasks that enable elders, veterans and adults with disabilities to remain independent in their own homes. Volunteers typically serve two to eight hours per month.

Donate cellphones
Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County takes donations of cellphones with chargers. Even without service, cellphones can be used to access 911 emergency services. The nonprofit gives them to clients who need the phones for safety reasons. Drop off donations at the New and Again Thrift Shoppe, 3010 Grand Ave. in Everett, or at other sites in Everett, Brier, Mountlake Terrace and Stanwood that are listed at dvs-snoco.org.
