WSU Extension Camano open house
Meet with Washington State University Extension Island County staff and share ideas on how extension programs can address the needs of Camano Island residents at an open house, 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 N East Camano Drive. Programs include conserving and protecting natural resources, small-scale farming, environmentally safe pest and weed control, managing water runoff, responsible shoreline living, waste reduction and recycling.

Food and toy drives
Volunteers of America Western Washington will hold holiday Stuff-a-Bus drives to collect nonperishable food and toys, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1-2 and Dec. 8-9 at Fred Meyer Everett (Murphy’s Corner), 12906 Bothell-Everett Highway.

BAZAARS
Stanwood: Boy Scouts Troop 46 of Camano Island and the Stillaguamish Grange will hold a holiday bazaar, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Stanwood Fairgrounds, 6431 Pioneer Highway. Over 70 vendors, Santa pictures, food truck, kettle corn, pulled pork.
Everett: Everett Makers Market runs noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at Black Lab Gallery, 1618 Hewitt Ave.
LIGHTS
Lights of Christmas
The Warm Beach show is the largest holiday light display in the region, with more than 1 million lights. The festival includes theater, live music, strolling carolers, shopping, kid’s activities, warm doughnuts and cider. Open 5 to 10 p.m. Nov. 29-Dec. 2, 6-9, 13-16, 19-23, 26-29 at Warm Beach Camp, 20800 Marine Dr., Stanwood. Tickets are $16 general (ages 13-59); $13 for military and for seniors 60-plus; $12 for children ages 4-12, and free for children ages 3 and younger. Pay what you can nights: Nov. 29, Dec., 6, 27, 28.

TRAINING
Become a master
Master gardener training classes will start in January at WSU Snohomish County Extension Center, 600 128th St. SE, Everett. Research, educate, mentor and answer horticulture questions for the public in a collaborative environment.
All training is open book and no memorization is expected. Training involves about 80 hours of classroom and workshop instruction held once a week on Thursdays through March.
Tuition is $275, plus a volunteer commitment of 40 hours each year for two years on a variety of horticultural and environmental educational projects. Without the volunteer commitment, tuition is $775.
