Get crafty at Mariner Library

Make shadow box art using Perler fuse beads and recycled CD cases at a DIY craft session, 3:30 to 5 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Mariner Library, 520 128th St. SW, south Everett. This could be a gift for friends and family, or something to keep. Space is limited; registration is required.

Forest work parties

The next Green Everett work party is 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Forest Park, 802 E. Mukilteo Blvd. All tools provided. RSVP requested.

Other work parties in December are Dec. 8 at the South Everett Forest Preserve (1017 109th St. SE) and Dec. 15 at Howarth Park (1127 Olympic Blvd.).

Donate sewing supplies

Snohomish County Clothing Textile Advisors seeks donations of fabric, notions, needlework, yarn, related supplies and equipment for an annual fabric sale planned next summer. Proceeds will go to local scholarships, grants and sewing classes.

Edmonds Arts Commission opening

The city of Edmonds seeks an Edmonds resident with a strong interest in the arts to fill a four-year term on the Edmonds Arts Commission starting in 2019. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Dec. 3.

Scholarship for Boeing kids

The Seattle Foundation’s Reita Cruze Scholarship offers two $5,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue a business career and who have been accepted at one of five area universities (Seattle University, University of Washington, Washington State University, Western Washington University or Central Washington University). Applicants must be a son or daughter of a Boeing employee who is on the active payroll and has been with Boeing for a minimum of five years.

The Reita Cruze Scholarship was created in 1995 by Deane Cruze, retired Boeing senior vice president of operations, in honor of his wife and the Boeing Company.
