EvCC campus closed briefly after nearby armed robbery

EVERETT — The campus at Everett Community College was closed briefly Thursday morning while police tried to track down an armed robber.

The robbery occurred early Thursday at a 7-Eleven in the 800 block of North Broadway, said Everett police officer Aaron Snell.

A man armed with a handgun demanded money from a clerk before running away.

A police dog tracked a path north of the college.

The track lasted about 50 minutes, but did not result in an arrest. The college was re-opened by 7 a.m.
