Pedestrian seriously hurt after being hit by car

LYNNWOOD — A woman suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday when she was hit while crossing the street near Hilltop Elementary School.

The woman, 29, was struck in a crosswalk around 5:10 p.m. She was hit by a Volvo SUV in the 20400 block of Damson Road, east of Lynnwood, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

An ambulance took the woman to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. An update on her condition wasn’t available Friday.

The driver, 65, remained at the scene. The sun had set about an hour earlier.

Deputies continued to investigate the dynamics of the crash Friday.
