Family trivia event comes to Lynnwood
The first Lynnwood Library Family Trivia event is set for 4 p.m. Friday. Trivia questions will be appropriate for anyone 7 years and older.
Enter as a team of four to six friends and family members, or join a team when you arrive. Work with your team to answer questions from multiple categories. Teams must have at least one child or teen and one adult.

Parenting talk about bullies
Cocoon House hosts a presentation for parents about bullying, 5:30 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Mariner Library, 520 128th St., Everett. Learn how to identify bullying and what to do about it. The presentation is part of a “Parenting Teens” series at the library.

Sign up for bingo on Camano
“Not your Ordinary Bingo” comes to the Camano Center on Jan. 12 starting with food at 6 p.m. and games at 7. Celebrity host Sylvia O’Stayformore keeps things rolling. Must be at least 21 to participate. Tickets are $16 for 10 games. Seats are limited and registration is required.
Food will be available for purchase, along with beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages. Bling-themed attire encouraged.
Proceeds from the event benefit Camano Center programs and services. The Camano Center is at 606 Arrowhead Road, Camano Island.

HEADS UP
Pilchuck trail gate closed for season
The gate to access the Mount Pilchuck trailhead is closed until spring. Cars can’t get through, but hikers are allowed to walk to the trail. The entrance is on Mount Pilchuck Road, off the Mountain Loop Highway.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue team reminds people to be safe in the mountains during winter — check weather and road conditions, bring essential survival gear and tell someone where you’re going.
Holiday bus service
Community Transit will operate limited commuter bus service Monday for Christmas Eve, as well as for Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve. Local buses will operate on their regular schedule. But commuter service to downtown Seattle and the University District will only operate on routes 402, 413, 421 and 855. Sound Transit Express service will operate on regular schedules.
In addition, Community Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule for Christmas on Tuesday and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1. There will be no commuter service; however, Sound Transit Express Route 512 will operate on a Sunday schedule.
Everett Transit will operate on Sunday schedules both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
