Light post-Christmas snow in the forecast in lowlands

EVERETT — The lowlands of Snohomish County could see some post-Christmas snow Wednesday. But not much, if any, is expected to stick at sea level, according to the National Weather Service.

A chilly mix of rain and snowflakes was in the Wednesday forecast along Puget Sound, roughly from Everett north to the Canadian border. At low elevations, a melty inch of slush might be the worst of this winter storm.

Those in the passes should prepare for about a half-foot of fresh snow.

Any lingering showers at Everett’s elevation late Wednesday and early Thursday could have snow mixed in, with lows in the mid-30s. From there, it should be mostly dry for a day or so.

Snow is forecast to stay above 1,000 feet Friday. In Everett, expect rain, gray skies and highs in the 40s, going into the weekend.
