LYNNWOOD — Two boys, both 16, are suspected of stealing firearms from a Lynnwood store Sunday afternoon.
Around 3:30 p.m., the teenagers reportedly entered the Lynnwood Gun off of Highway 99. While employees were busy helping other customers, the suspects grabbed three handguns from behind the display counter, according to the Lynnwood Police Department.
As they ran from the store, an employee chased them. When the employee caught up, the suspects reportedly dropped the weapons and kept running.
Police reportedly found the suspects hiding by a dumpster at a nearby business, trying to change their clothes.
They were arrested for investigation of several firearms-related offenses, including theft of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.
Both have an extensive criminal history, police say. They were previously arrested for robbery and second-degree assault.
