Legion Open House
American Legion Post 178 in Marysville will host a Centennial Open House March 16 to celebrate the national organization’s 100th birthday.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Legion Hall at 119 Cedar Ave.
Visitors will be able to learn about the American Legion, talk to its members, pick up brochures and enjoy refreshments.

Plantings for fish
Volunteers are being sought to plant trees and native shrubs to help salmon in Grant Creek.
The plantings will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 5 and March 12.
Parents or guardians are advised to help supervise children ages 5 and older.
Sound Salmon Solutions is putting on the events to help the Stillaguamish Watershed.
The Department of Ecology is funding the restoration project.

MEETINGS
The Stanwood-Camano School District Board of Directors plans several meetings for Tuesday.
Noon is the audit exit conference in the curriculum training room, followed by the regular meeting in the board room, followed by a 1:40 p.m. study session discussion with the high school principals.
The study session start time is estimated, and the location is the curriculum training room.

The Edmonds Diversity Commission meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Edmonds Senior Center. Agenda items including recognizing Misha Carter. The commission’s retreat is set for 4 to 8 p.m. April 10.
The city of Lynnwood plans a public hearing at 7 p.m. March 11 regarding the Whispering Pines project. A related rezoning is proposed there as part of a plan to develop new multi-family housing.
The city of Mill Creek has scheduled a public hearing about a development agreement for The Farm at Mill Creek at 6 p.m. March 26. The hearing is at City Council Chambers at 15728 Main St.
The project includes 355 apartments, plus retail and commercial space, at the intersection of 132nd Street SE and 39th Avenue SE. The developer also has scheduled an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. March 13 at the Mill Creek Senior Center, 4111 133rd St. SE.

The Snohomish County Public Utility District is providing three open houses to answer questions about the Community Solar program.
They will be held 5:30 to 7 p.m., with short presentations at 5:30 and 6:15 p.m.
