Coloring and conversation

Make friends who love to color and chat from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 3 at the Everett Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave. No registration required. Coloring pages and pencils provided. Free.

Sustainable gardening series

The Master Gardener Foundation’s annual sustainable gardening speaker series runs through April.

Talks are on Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. Cost is $20 for a single session or $85 for the series.

All proceeds go to the Master Gardener Foundation of Snohomish County.

Get rid of trash and recycling

Marysville residents are invited to bring garbage and unwanted household items from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27 to the city’s public works department, 80 Columbia Ave. Most items will be accepted for free. The first 50 refrigerators and freezers will be accepted at no cost, but after that people will be charged $35.

Those interested should bring an ID card or utility bill for proof of address.

Honor a veteran

In 2005, the American Legion Post 76 and Arlington Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1561 dedicated a monument at Arlington’s Legion Park to memorialize local military veterans. Dozens of pavers remain available for purchase to celebrate the service of those in the U.S. Armed Forces. Application forms are available at the city’s website.

Community service credit for students

The Mukilteo Library invites students in grades 6 to 12 to earn community service credit by putting crafts together for library programs, sorting books and more. Those interested can meet in the library’s teen area at 10:30 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month, between September and May. The library is at 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd.

Finding your roots

Sno-Isle Genealogical Society offers a free beginning genealogy class at 10 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month at the Research Library in Heritage Park, 19827 Poplar Way, Lynnwood. How to get started with your research, plus tips on getting organized, will help the researcher find their ancestors. The class lasts about an hour.
