Mental health and first responders
Following the passage of Initiative 940 last fall, the Snohomish County affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness is hosting a public input meeting Tuesday night.
The law is intended to ensure police are trained to use deadly force only when it’s unavoidable. Committee members from the implementation committee and members of law enforcement will be present at the meeting, which is open to the public. People who have direct experience with mental health crises and first responders are encouraged to attend and share their thoughts.
The event takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., April 30, in the Compass Health Federal Campus gymnasium, 4526 Federal Ave., Everett.

Mukilteo landslide information
Those who live in Mukilteo and the surrounding area can learn about protecting their property from landslides, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. April 30 at the Mukilteo City Hall, 11930 Cyrus Way.
WSDOT is hosting the event with help from the city of Mukilteo, the state Department of Natural Resources and Snohomish County.

Review Everett schools learning material
Comment on potential 10th grade science and engineering instructional materials for Everett Public Schools. The community can review the materials and give input during an open house from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, at the district’s Community Resource Center, 3900 Broadway, Everett, in board room A.

Forest Park improvements
The city of Everett Parks and Community Services Department is seeking input for new playground equipment planned for Forest Park. The meeting is scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. May 13 at Lions Hall, 802 E. Mukilteo Blvd.
Construction on the park is set to begin this fall and be completed by next year. Playground equipment is evaluated for replacement generally every 15 years.

Lakewood schools bond money
The Lakewood School District is holding a public hearing to find possible ways to spend remaining bond funds that were provided to build Lakewood High School. The district hopes to find ideas for projects and improvements at any of its schools.
The hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday in the library at Lakewood High School, 17023 11th Ave. NE, Arlington.
Superintendent Michael Mack is set to give a presentation followed by public comment.
