HEADS UP

Car convoys to Leavenworth

The Washington State Patrol expects hundreds, if not thousands, of European car enthusiasts to travel U.S. 2 for Saturday’s Leavenworth Drive.

In years past, drivers from throughout the Pacific Northwest have gathered between Monroe and Stevens Pass to head in groups to the event in the Bavarian-themed town in central Washington.

State troopers will be conducting extra patrols and have an aviation unit on duty, “looking for those who choose to use this time as a racing event.”
