Reportedly accidental shooting kills boy, 15, near Lynnwood

LYNNWOOD — A teenage boy died Saturday of an apparently accidental shooting east of Lynnwood.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office detectives were investigating who fired the fatal gunshot in the 2500 block of 204th Place SW.

Someone reported the boy, 15, had been shot after 4 p.m. in the neighborhood southeast of Alderwood mall.

Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful. The Lynnwood-area boy died at the scene, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

No one had been arrested as of Saturday evening, sheriff’s Lt. Rob Martin said. He said others were present at the home.

Deputies said no suspects were at large and the scene was secure. The shooting was reported as an accident, according to the sheriff’s office.

The manner of death will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
