The top three teams in Wesco 4A asserted their dominance on Friday night.

Lake Stevens, Glacier Peak and Monroe, who have made Week 10 playoff contests in each of the past three seasons, once again proved they’re the class of the league while combining to outscore their opponents 167-13 in Week 4.

The Vikings rolled to a 77-0 win over Mount Vernon only one year removed from facing a 14-0 halftime deficit in the same matchup last season. Monroe bounced back from last week’s thumping by Lake Stevens for a resounding 49-7 win over visiting Mariner, and Glacier Peak proved no match for Kamiak as they rolled to a 41-6 win over the winless Knights.

Four weeks into the season, the trio has separated itself from the pack with impressive wins and tight battles with some of the state’s top teams.

Arlington hopes at distancing itself from Marysville Pilchuck in the Wesco 3A North standings came up short with in a 48-28 loss to Ferndale, which asserted the Golden Eagles right back in the thick of the league-title race early on, and Stanwood and Squalicum each picked up their first league win to avoid falling into a 0-3 hole to start conference play.

Defending Wesco 3A South champion Snohomish continued its hot start in league play with a blowout win over Everett, and Lynden and Lakewood opened Northwest 2A Sky Division play with impressive wins over Archbishop Murphy and Sedro-Woolley, respectively.

Here’s how it all went down in Week 4:

Glacier Peak 41, Kamiak 6

Glacier Peak’s Brayden Corwin made a pair of field goals — 35 and 45 yards — made all five of his extra point attempts and caught a 54-yard touchdown pass from Tyson Lang and the Grizzlies rolled to a Wesco 4A win over Kamiak.

Dylan Owen rushed for four touchdowns for Glacier Peak (4-0 overall, 2-0 Wesco 4A).

Kamiak, which got an 80-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter for its only score of the game, fell to 0-4 and 0-2 with the loss.

Lake Stevens 77, Mount Vernon 0

Tanner Jellison threw for four touchdowns and Dallas Landeros rushed for three more as the Vikings, ranked first in the state in 4A, throttled Mount Vernon in a Wesco 4A contest.

Kasen Kinchen caught two of Jellison’s scoring throws, and Max Moenoa and Skyler Reyna had one touchdown reception apiece for the Vikings (4-0, 2-0 Wesco 4A), who led 56-0 at halftime.

Cascade 40, Jackson 0

Davanta Murphy-Mcmillan and Michael Purl combined for five touchdowns as Cascade shutout Jackson in a Wesco 4A contests.

Murphy-Mcmillan ran for two touchdowns and hauled in a 32-yard TD pass, Purl scored on runs of 13 and 57 yards and quarterback Francisco Beltran threw for two scores for the Bruins (2-2, 1-1 Wesco 4A).

The Timberwolves fall to 0-4 (0-2).

Ferndale 48, Arlington 28

Ferndale’s Michael Bernard returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown at the beginning of the second half to help the Golden Eagles take control of a Wesco 3A North game against Arlington.

The Eagles (3-1 overall, 2-1 Wesco 3A North) lost a fumble on their ensuing possession, and Ferndale (2-2, 2-0) converted that turnover into a touchdown as well, giving the Golden Eagles a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Arlington quarterback Trent Nobach threw three touchdown passes — one each to Cade Younger, Levi Younger and Joseph Schmidt — in the loss.

Stanwood 22, Oak Harbor 6

After an early touchdown from Oak Harbor’s Brendan Anderson, Stanwood’s Garrett Craig, who finished with 11 points and connected on all three of his his field goal attempts, and Tylor SanNicolas, who had two rushing touchdowns, carried the Spartans to a 22-6 victory over the Wildcats.

With the win, Stanwood moves to 2-2, and 1-2 in Wesco 3A North play, while Oak Harbor falls to 1-3, and 0-2 in league play.

Squalicum 56, Marysville Getchell 14

Marysville Getchell was held scoreless until the fourth quarter in a Wesco 3A North home loss to Squalicum.

Aiden Verdugo and Garrett Devereux each found the end zone for the Chargers (1-3, 1-2 Wesco 3A North).

Snohomish 48, Everett 12

Snohomish’s Tyler Larson ran for four touchdowns and 163 yards on 11 carries to lift the Panthers to a Wesco 3A South victory over the winless Seagulls.

The Panthers (2-2 overall, 2-0 league) forced three Everett turnovers and racked up 388 yards on the ground in the win.

Everett’s Maliquei Noland and Jeremy Reed had rushing touchdowns late in the game to account for the Seagulls’ scoring. Everett fell to 0-4, 0-3 with the loss.

Shorecrest 13, Shorewood 7

Shorecrest broke through for a pair of second-half touchdowns and held off Shorewood to win the Rotary Cup in a Wesco 3A South contest.

The Scots improved to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play with the win, and the Thunderbirds fell to 1-3, 0-3 with the loss.

Edmonds-Woodway 27, Meadowdale 13

Read Carr’s two-yard touchdown run with 2 minutes, 43 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter sealed the Wesco 3A South win for Edmonds-Woodway, in a game which didn’t kick off until 9:04 p.m. due to weather delays in the game before it at Edmonds Stadium.

Steele Swinton and Ben Grimes also had touchdown runs for the Warriors (2-2 overall, 2-0 league), and Carr threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Nathan Tesfatsion.

Meadowdale quarterback Hunter Moen had a hand in both of the Mavericks touchdowns, keeping the ball for a 27-yard score and finding Hussain Al-Mayyahi on a 28-yard scoring pass in the third quarter to draw Meadowdale to within seven points.

The Mavericks fell to 3-1 and 2-1 on the season with the loss.

Cedarcrest 22, Bellingham 18

Cedarcrest used 15 fourth-quarter points to rally to from an 11-point deficit for road win over Bellingham to start Northwest 2A Lake Division play.

Jackson Burpee’s 1-yard touchdown run put the Red Wovles (3-1, 1-0 Northwest 2A Lake) on top in the fourth quarter. Burpee finished with 91 carries and a TD on 17 carries.

Dawson Cairns hauled in nine receptions for 135 yards for Cedarcrest.

Marysville Pilchuck 33, Lake Washington 14

Jordan Justice and Dylan Carson ran for over 100 yards apiece as Marysville Pilchuck picked up a non-league road win over Lake Washington.

Justice found the end zone twice and totaled 104 yards and 16 carries, and Carson scored once and racked up 131 yards on 20 carries for the unbeaten Tomahawks (4-0, 2-0 Wesco 3A North).

MP quarterback Jake Elwood added a rushing score, and Edgar Martinez made a pair of field goals.

Lynnwood 15, Juanita 7

In a game that was delayed for over an hour by lightning seven minutes into the first quarter, the Lynnwood Royals took advantage of the rainy conditions, collecting both a defensive touchdown and a safety on aborted snaps, in a non-conference home game against Juanita.

In a game dominated by defense, Lynnwood’s shined brightest, holding the Rebels scoreless after the delay.

The Rebels had a chance to tie the game up with under a minute to go in the fourth quarter, but the Royals’ defense stood strong and was able to pull out a gritty, 15-7 victory.

With the win, Lynnwood moves to 3-1 on the season, while Juanita moves to 0-4 on the year.

Friday Harbor 46, Sultan 0

Friday Harbor raced out to a 28-0 halftime lead against Sultan on its way to a non-conference home win over

William Bennett completed 4 of 5 passes for 38 yards for the Turks (1-3).

Friday Harbor totaled 356 yards on the ground in the victory.

Cascade (Leavenworth) 23, King’s 14

King’s took a 14-3 lead into the half but couldn’t hold on as Cascade score 20 unanswered points in the second half to knock off the Knights in a non-conference matchup at King’s High School.

Hayden Teeter found Davis Campbell for a pair of scoring strikes to lead the Knights (0-4).
