Vehicle strikes and kills woman near Marysville

MARYSVILLE — A motor vehicle struck and killed a woman Saturday around 6:30 p.m. on Fire Trail Road near Marysville.

The woman appeared to be in her thirties, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. She died at the scene in the 1400 block of what is also known as 140th Street NE.

The driver, an 85-year-old Stanwood man who stayed at the scene, was travelling westbound when the woman was struck, sheriff’s Lt. Todd. Swenson said in a news release.

The resident of a nearby home heard the collision and came out to help, the sheriff’s office said.

Identification of the victim and notification of next of kin will be handled by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
