Mukilteo children hospitalized after rope swing breaks

MUKILTEO — Two children sustained traumatic injuries and were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after a rope swing broke Monday morning, according to the Mukilteo Fire Department.

The fire department was dispatched around 10:50 a.m. to an address in the 2600 block of Mukilteo Speedway.

A girl, 7, and boy, 11, had been swinging together when the rope broke. They were dropped into trees in a ravine.

First responders found the boy with a suspected back injury and the girl with a possible leg injury, according to a news release. Both were transported to the hospital and the scene was cleared by 11:18 a.m.
