EVERETT — The Hillsboro Hops scored six runs on seven hits in the first inning and cruised to their third straight win, 9-4, over the Everett AquaSox on Friday night at Funko Field.

The big first inning for the Hops was highlighted by a three-run home run from Jordan Lawlar and a two-run single by Wilderd Patino.

The AquaSox scored a run on a sacrifice fly by David Sheaffer in the bottom of the first, but Hillsboro added a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth to push its lead to 9-1.

Everett (48-51) mounted a small rally in the fifth on an RBI double from Alberto Rodriguez. Rodriguez and Victor Labrada later scored on a two-run error as the AquaSox cut the deficit to 9-4, but never got any closer.

Rodriguez finished the game 2-for-3 with his 26th double of the season, second-most in the Northwest League.

Ryan Bliss, A.J. Vukovich and Neyfy Castillo each had two hits for Hillsboro (43-55).
