Everett police investigating shooting death near downtown

EVERETT — A man in his 20s was shot and killed Sunday morning near downtown Everett.

Everett police officers responded to a report of a man being shot around 7:18 a.m. in a home in the 3200 block of Wetmore Avenue.

Officers found him and attempted first aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene when medics arrived, a police department spokesperson said.

Wetmore Avenue was closed between 32nd and 33rd streets.

Detectives were investigating.
