EVERETT — The pedestrian who was hit and killed Sunday morning on Broadway has been identified.

A driver was southbound on Broadway around 6:20 a.m. when the vehicle hit Peggy Shea, of Everett, at 18th Street, officer Ora Hamel said. She was 66.

Shea died of blunt-force injuries, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office determined.

The driver is under investigation for driving under the influence. Shortly after the crash, a suspect was booked into the Snohomish County Jail, but was quickly released and taken to the hospital, Hamel said.
