Silvertips fall behind early, lose to Thunderbirds

KENT — The Seattle Thunderbirds scored three first-period goals and bested the Everett Silvertips 4-1 on Friday.
Sam Popwich, Kyle Crnkovic, Gracyn Sawchyn and Luke Prokop scored goals for Seattle (22-4-1-1, 46 points). Prokop, Sawchyn, Jordan Gustafson and Sawyer Mynio had assists. Goalie Scott Ratzlaff stopped 23 of 24 shots.
Caden Saplitny scored the lone goal for Everett (16-13-1-0, 33). Andrew Petruk and Steel Quiring assisted on the score. Netminder Braden Holt had 38 saves in 42 chances.
