EVERETT — A motor home crash on northbound I-5 caused major traffic delays Wednesday morning north of Highway 526.
The motor home driver tried to make a lane change around 11 a.m. and did not see the oncoming vehicle, Washington State Patrol trooper Kelsey Harding said. The collision caused massive damage to the Overland RV and left debris scattered on I-5.
Both passengers in the motor home were transported to Providence Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
At one time, several lanes of I-5 northbound were blocked off, resulting in a 5-mile backup. As of 3 p.m., the backup was about 6 miles. About a half-hour later, crews had cleared the scene and traffic was beginning to flow again.
State troopers advised drivers to expect delays or take alternate routes.
