AquaSox down Hops to push win streak to 5

HILLSBORO — Hogan Windish broke up a tied game with an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning and the Everett AquaSox held on to win their fifth straight game, 4-3, over the Hillsboro Hops on Thursday night.
James Parker hit a two-run home run in the second and Randy Bednar added a run-scoring double in the third as the inning ended in a 3-3 tie.
The game remained deadlocked until Windish plated Mike Salvatore with what proved to be the winning run in the seventh.
Bednar finished 2-for-3 with two doubles and a stolen base, and Jarod Bayless struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth to earn his second save of the season for Everett (34-32).
Gary Mattis hit a solo home run in the game for Hillsboro (24-42).
