Economic Alliance Snohomish County seeking new CEO

EVERETT — Economic Alliance Snohomish County is looking for someone to fill the top slot at the nonprofit.
The group serves as a countywide chamber of commerce. Its main aim is to foster a competitive regional economy where businesses can thrive.
Garry Clark, the alliance’s CEO since early 2021, stepped down from the post late last year. Wendy Poischbeg has served as the organization’s interim CEO.
“We’re looking for a visionary who can strengthen our regional representation and deepen our community connections,” the alliance’s board Chair Doug Purcell said in a press release. “The ideal candidate will unite businesses, government, and stakeholders under a shared vision for growth.”
The alliance was created in 2011 when the Everett Chamber of Commerce, the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Council of Snohomish County merged.
This summer, the Everett City Council voted unanimously to launch a new version of the city’s Chamber of Commerce by 2025.
The next CEO will lead legislative advocacy efforts, and focus on retaining and expanding business memberships as well as workforce development, according to the press release.
The alliance is “committed to growing and nurturing a vital and globally competitive regional economy,” the organization’s website states. “We achieve this by expanding partnerships, developing key resources and building the infrastructure systems creating local and regional employment centers.
The nonprofit hopes to have a new CEO in place by the end of the year.
The alliance hosts networking opportunities and can act as a liaison between Snohomish County leadership and its members. Those include events like conferences and the upcoming “State of the Station” on Oct. 23 that will give an update on Naval Station Everett from its commanding officer.
