The Athlete of the Week nominees for Feb. 16-22. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with the next poll and in next Wednesday’s paper.

Cassie Chesnut | Shorecrest girls basketball

The senior scored 28 points and pulled down 18 rebounds in a Feb. 14 win over rival Shorewood in a district playoff contest. Chesnut won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week for Feb. 2-8 by claiming 94 (55.62%) of the 169 votes.

This week’s nominees

Conor Aney | Glacier Peak boys wrestling

The senior won his third state wrestling title, taking the Class 4A 285-pound title in double overtime at the Mat Classic to avenge his only loss of the season.

Hannah Baldock | Edmonds-Woodway girls wrestling

The senior went 5-0 at Mat Classic to claim the Class 3A 120-pound state title.

Mia Cianega | Everett girls wrestling

The junior completed a perfect season by winning the Class 3A 190-pound division state title at the Mat Classic.

Tre Haines | Arlington boys wrestling

The junior won his third state title with a Class 4A win at 157 pounds at the Mat Classic.

Torsten Hokanson | Snohomish boys swimming

The senior won the Class 3A 50-yard freestyle, finished second in the 100 and led the Panthers to two relay wins at the state swim meet.

Syunta Lee | Jackson boys swimming

The freshman set a state record in 200-yard individual medley and also won the Class 4A 500 freestyle title at the state swim meet.

Elisabeth Norton | Shorewood girls wrestling

The senior pinned all four opponents on her way to winning the Class 3A state title at 105 pounds at the Mat Classic.

Emily Ortiz | Jackson girls wrestling

The senior became the Timberwolves’ first state wrestling champion, winning the 145-pound division by pinning all four of her opponents at the Mat Classic.

Malia Ottow | Snohomish girls wrestling

The sophomore won the Class 3A state champion at 115 pounds by pinning all four of her opponents in the first round at the Mat Classic.

Kylee Wicklund | Lake Stevens girls wrestling

The sophomore pinned all four of her opponents and overcame a 3-0 deficit in the title bout to win the Class 4A 140 state title at the Mat Classic.
