Man killed in crash near Maltby on Monday night

EVERETT — One person is dead after a head-on crash near Maltby on Monday night.

Around 10:40 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to a crash near the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Yew Way, according to a release from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

A 55-year-old man died at the crash scene, the release said.

Crash investigators said the man was driving when he allegedly hit a Ford Mustang on 180th Street SE, just west of Broadway Avenue, according to the release.

The driver of the Mustang told deputies the man did not stop and continued on Broadway Avenue.

Deputies said the man was driving at high speeds when he crossed into oncoming traffic near Yew Way and crashed head-on into a Toyota Camry, the release said.

Neither of the other drivers was seriously hurt, the sheriff’s office said.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the crash, the release said.
