Football potluck

It’s “Football Fever” at Utsalady Ladies Aid’s annual Potluck Picnic and Raffle, noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, at 78 Utsalady Road, Camano Island. Bring a favorite dish to share. Hot dogs, coffee and lemonade will be provided. Enjoy a cakewalk and games for all ages. Wear your favorite football team colors.

Grill time recipes: The Friends of the Edmonds Library Ongoing Book Sale highlights barbecue, grilling and other summer cookbooks at discount prices this month. All proceeds go to support the Edmonds Library.

Threshing bee: The Sky Valley Stock and Antique Tractor Club’s annual Tractor Show and Threshing Bee runs today to Sunday, Aug. 12-14, at the Frohning farm, 1524-A Tualco Loop Road, Monroe. It includes tractor-pulling contests, threshing, fast start race, food vendors, pie, root beer floats. General admission is $7; kids under age 12 are free. Sew doll clothes: Quality Sewing and Vacuum hosts a free Open Sew event to benefit Christmas House, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at 10121 Evergreen Way. Christmas House has 18-inch dolls to benefit local children this coming holiday season, but the dolls lack extra clothes. Sewers are invited to come and create outfits. Bring your sewing machine and supplies. Or just come and help cut fabric. Completed doll outfits also are welcome.

Quiet Lights sale: The Sisters at the Convent of the Meeting of the Lord and Quiet Light Candles holds a yard sale 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 11, 12 and 13, at 29206 64th Ave. NW in Stanwood.
