Patrol seeks witnesses to Smokey Point assault

ARLINGTON — The Washington State Patrol is looking for witnesses to an assault that occurred inside a car at the southbound Smokey Point rest area Tuesday afternoon.

A woman reported she was assaulted around 4:45 p.m. that day.

According to the victim, the assault occurred when she returned to her parked vehicle.

Troopers are seeking witnesses to the assault or any events leading up to it.
