Romantic farce

“The Servant of Two Masters” is on stage tonight at Stanwood High School.

Set in Venice during the 1700s, this tangled tale of love draws on the traditions and characters of the commedia dell’arte theater, the director said.

The show starts at 7 p.m. in the school Performing Arts Center, 7400 272nd St. NW.

Tickets are available at the door before curtain time. Cost is $8 for students and $9 for adults.

Vacation house checks: Mountlake Terrace police are reminding folks to sign up for house checks before they go on vacation.

The city’s Crime Watch program will send volunteers to check on people’s homes while they’re away. Volunteers call patrol officers if anything is amiss.

The program also is accepting applications for volunteers.
