Arlington: Watch a free kids’ movie Wednesday

“The Smurfs” is this year’s free film for kids at the Olympic Theater in downtown Arlington.

Offered by the city, an anonymous donor and the theater, the annual winter break movie usually packs in crowds.

The final show time is 1 p.m. Wednesday at the theater, 107 N. Olympic Ave.

Arlington: Learn how to access e-books

Register Wednesday to learn how to browse, check out and download free e-books and audio books at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Arlington Library, 135 N. Washington Ave.

The program is funded by the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation and Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation.

If you want to download a book during the class, bring your laptop and e-reader or audio device, or your WiFi-enabled device, and your valid library card.

Granite Falls: Help families in need

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is collecting monetary donations for a program that helps feed families in need with children at Granite Falls Middle School.

Those who want to contribute can write a check to the Granite Falls School District and mail it to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., M/S 606, Everett, WA 98201. Write “Backpack Program” on the bottom left line.

Marysville: Library holds citizenship class

The Marysville Library is offering a U.S. citizenship class.

Trained volunteers are to teach the five-week class beginning Jan. 23 in the library’s small meeting room.

Those who are interested in the classes must register at the information desk at the Marysville Library, 6120 Grove St.

Marysville: Still time to see holiday lights

The Holiday Tour of Lights at Cedarcrest Golf Course is scheduled for two more nights.

Families can tour the light display from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

The event also includes free activities, a bonfire, holiday music and holiday restaurant specials.

Suggested donations are $3 per child, $5 per adult and $20 a family. The golf course is located at 6810 84th St.
