Boeing to boost 777 production

Growing demand of its 777 has prompted the Boeing Co. to again increase production.

The company said earlier this year that it will boost production to seven jets a month from five next summer.

On Monday, it announced that it would increase production to 8.3 airplanes a month in early 2013.

Company officials said the 777 is popular because of its unmatched range and operating economics.

Boeing has delivered 907 777s since its launch in 1995 and has a backlog of 250 more, the company said.

It added that suppliers are prepared for the production increase.
