Holiday closures are set for New Year’s Day. Here are some changes:
Government: Federal, state and local offices are closed.
Schools: Closed.
Post offices: Closed.
Garbage: Rubatino has no change on Friday’s schedule. It will pick up garbage scheduled Saturday one day earlier. Waste Management has no change in its schedule.
Commerce: Most businesses and banks are closed.
Transportation: No Community Transit service. Sound Transit is on a holiday schedule. Everett Transit is on a Sunday schedule. Ferries for Port Townsend and San Juan are on regular schedule. Ferry service from Mukilteo to Clinton will run on a Saturday schedule for Friday and Saturday. For more information, visit www. wsdot.wa.gov/ferries or call 888-808-7977.

Story time in Granite Falls: Bring kids age 3 to 5 to Granite Falls Library in January for weekly storytime.
The program is at 1 p.m. Tuesdays at 815 E. Galena St., Granite Falls.

One woman and one man will be honored at a basketball game Feb. 4.
The Alumni Hall of Fame was established in 1994 to honor past graduates who were active in school activities and have gone on to become positive role models.
