Everett: City approves purchase of home

The Everett City Council approved the purchase Wednesday of a single family home and property at 332 120th St. SE for the price of $390,000 plus extra costs for the current owners to move.

The city wants to build a new sewer lift station and the current lift station property right next door is too small for the new, updated equipment.

The city began negotiating with the owner in 2008 and paid a consultant $2,200 to provide an appraisal.

The city ended up spending less than the owner’s appraisal but more than the city’s expert.
