GOLD BAR — A man has been jailed since Thursday after he reportedly killed a puppy during a fight with his girlfriend.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic violence report at the woman’s home in the 41400 block of Larson Drive in Gold Bar.
The woman told deputies the man, 30, pushed her and hit her and broke several windows at the home. He then stepped on the puppy’s head before taking it outside and “finishing it off,” he told police.
Afterward, the man ran away from the house, according to court records. He later told police he threw the puppy into a nearby bush after killing it.
The man was booked for investigation of first-degree animal cruelty, second-degree malicious mischief and fourth-degree assault. Bail was set at $50,000.
