The World Trade Organization is expected to rule against the Boeing Co. in a trade case brought by Europe’s Airbus.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the WTO will likely agree with some of Airbus’ claims that Boeing received illegal subsidies from the U.S. government, when the trade organization rules tomorrow.
The WTO previously ruled against Airbus in a similar claim made by Boeing.
Boeing’s supporters in Congress have tried to use the WTO case against Airbus’ parent company, EADS, in its bid for a $35 billion U.S. Air Force tanker contract. Boeing is offering the Air Force a tanker based on the Everett-built 767 tanker.
