Army Pfc. Michael Bolyard has returned to Fort Hood, Texas, after serving a year in Iraq. Bolyard is the son of Matt and Chris Summers of Mount Vernon and Bill Bolyard of Marysville. He graduated from Stanwood High School in 2008.
Air Force Airman Tanner Brown graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Troy and Joni Brown of Snohomish, is a 2007 graduate of Enumclaw High School.
Navy Seaman Recruit Caitlin Hovick, daughter of Linda Hovick of Lynnwood, recently completed basic training at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. She graduated with honors. Hovick is a 2008 graduate of Mountlake Terrace High School.
Army National Guard Pvt. Alexander Beardsley has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Michelle Ingram of Stanwood and brother of Jason Conrad of Mount Vernon. The private graduated in 2008 from the high school program at Skagit Valley College, Mount Vernon.
Military Police Staff Sgt. Jodi Stone of Stanwood, a kennel master, recently helped train Iraqi police to use dogs that detect explosives.
Army Pvt. Akenese Moana has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. She is the daughter of Frank Pulu and Wanda Pulu, both of Oak Harbor. The private is a 2007 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.
Navy Seaman Recruit Nikki Force, sister of Eric Force of Oak Harbor, recently completed basic training at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Force is a 2005 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.

Army Pvt. JoshGrinstead has graduated from One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at the U.S. Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. The training consisted of basic military training and advanced individual training. Grinstead is the son of Barry Grinstead of Oak Harbor, and is a 2007 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.
Army Reserve Pvt. Randy Golembieski has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Bill Golembieski of Snohomish, and is a 2006 graduate of Lake Stevens High School.
Navy Seaman Recruit Andrew Fowler, son of Elizabeth Fowler of Camano Island, recently completed basic training at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Fowler is a 2004 graduate of Stanwood High School.
Navy Seaman Apprentice James Wooley, son of Kelly Cordell of Molalla, Ore., and James L. Wooley of Edmonds, recently completed basic training at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Wooley is a 2008 graduate of Molalla High School.
Ian Brotnov has entered Basic Cadet Training at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., in preparation to enter the first academic year at the academy. The program must be successfully completed by the cadets prior to entering their freshman year. He is the son of John and Jenni Brotnov of Everett, and is a 2009 graduate of a home-school program.
