Tyler Maxwell invited to U.S. World Juniors tryout camp

More summer evaluation camp news today as Tips winger Tyler Maxwell was invited by USA Hockey to attend its national junior evaluation camp.

A total of 44 players were invited to the camp, which takes place from July 30-Aug. 7 in Lake Placid, N.Y. From this camp the U.S. will select its team for the 2011 World Junior Hockey Championships, which are Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Buffalo, N.Y. The U.S. is the defending gold medalist.

This is the second year Maxwell, who was second on the team in goals (33) and points (69) last season, has been invited to the tryout camp. The Manhattan Beach, Calif., product is one of just two WHL players who were invited to the camp, joining Medicine Hat forward Emerson Etem.
